Take Seven : 25th September

It’s Friday!

Welcome to my Take Seven compilation which incorporates all 21 words (or derivatives) from the Three Things Challenge for the past week.
You are most welcome to join in using as many or all of the words too. Just pingback to this post and then leave a link to your post in the comments so that I can see it and respond directly.
As always, have fun.

Our words this week were:
anniversary, blogging, bracket, cascade, dog, earthy, fresh, futile, leap, lock, mad, money, pale, party, peal, portion, pressure, slipper, tall, ticket, torch.

This month saw my seventh blogging anniversary and also one year of hosting the Three Things Challenge.
Both have come along in leaps and bounds, and I had no idea the support would cascade the way it has. It was a tall order to start something so unfamiliar, and I admit to thinking my efforts would be pretty futile compared with other blogs I began to read.
Originally, I had intended to bracket my blog to budgets and frugal living, but that paled into the background as I started writing about our fresh home grown produce, parties we’d given, poetry (including one of my Mum’s favourites called ‘Slippers‘), trips on the boat up river and navigation of the locks, the relief that the recorded peal of bells was turned off overnight at one of the berthing areas, tickets to the Canal Boat Festival at Stratford, portion control for my diet meals, the pressure of ill health, walking the dog by torch light, and the madness of government cutbacks generating money issues on an already limited income and worrying how on earth we were going to manage until official retirement.

So there you have it, all twenty one words from this week’s 3TCs and a personal post to boot!

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! In November 2020, we lost our beloved Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney. We now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of Kizzy, my GSD when Hubby and I first met so had hers done too. On February 24th 2022 we were blessed to find Maya, a 13 week old GSD pup who has made her own place in our hearts. You can follow our training methods, photos and her growth in my blog posts. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.
