Today is Tuesday 15th September

It’s going to be another hot one, and this ‘orchid’ is wilting already.
However, we have some more string beans coming in the greenhouse, two on the plants outside that are still not climbing very well, and some cherry tomatoes are also beginning to turn. The italian tomatoes are really lovely, and I might make some soup with some as they mush down beautifully when cooked.

Washing is out on the line, I’ve done a bit of shopping, and Hubby’s done the housework while I was out.
Town wasn’t too bad, but the supermarket was busy. I managed to get some nice green bananas and grapes were on special offer. I also treated Hubby to a bag of pecan nuts (his favourite) as after next week, he won’t be able to have them.

Lunch today is chicken curry with rice and poppadoms. Maggie will have some before I add anything else and I’ll mix it with some of her own dinner. We’re getting into a routine with her meals and meds, and the dosage we’re giving her seems to be helping.

Things are pretty quiet here. We think the kids are back at school, though have seen some aged around 8 that are not. The teenagers have been walking down the road in the afternoons, so maybe it’s only the older students that have gone back. Holidaymakers are still here, but not so many. When I walked the dog this morning I saw hardly anyone.

Have a good day everyone. Take care and keep safe.

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! We have an elderly dog called Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.

  3. Sounds like a productive day. Mine is just beginning. The sun is coming up and I need to go outside and play with Annie.

  4. I’d never heard of “poppadoms”, so I Googled and my my! Those look so TASTY!! Nom nom…. I’m glad Ms. Maggie is settling into a routine and the medicines are helping her! It sounds like you accomplished a great deal today, so I presume your back is feeling better today? And YAY for the departure of a lot of those tourists. It must be so refreshing to have your patch back!

    • It is nice to walk round and not have to fight for a bit of pavement. Back is definitely better today thank you. I had t take a painkiller yesterday, but it seems to have settled down today. Hurrah! How are you?

So glad to hear that the visitors have thinned out enough to not be an issue while walking Maggie. I will be thinking of you and your husband when his surgery date rolls around…
