Dr Tanya has taken up hosting the 5 things challenge
The 5 Things tag keeps surfacing on WordPress. I am not sure who first thought of it but I have always found it fun to do. I thought “Why not make it a weekly feature?”
This week:~
5 Favourite Burgers
Now, do we use a burger as a base with additives and enhancements or is it five different types of actual burger?
Hm. Toughie, especially as we don’t eat burgers as a rule now.
But in the days when we did:
Hubby’s favourite was a Big Mac, whereas I referred the chicken sandwich, which isn’t actually a burger.
There were several Holes in the Wall burger joints open until 2am when I was single, so after a night out, it wasn’t unusual to stop for one with fries.
I loved the mushroom burger: a nice meaty patty with sliced mushrooms in a sesame bun.
Onions were optional.
Next was the pineapple burger, again on a juicy beef burger in a sesame or white bun.
Then I discovered the delights of a mushroom and pineapple burger with mayo! Piggy or what!! When I lived in the Bath area, the burger bar in the village did an amazing Hawaiian burger with a huge beef burger, pineapple, lettuce, cheese and mayo.
For a BBQ, the bacon burger was a favourite. A juicy piece of bacon molded to shape and served with pineapple or an egg on a bun of your choice, or sliced in half and served in a baguette.
You can’t beat a decent beef burger though, one with tender meat and loads of onions. Melt some sliced cheese on the top, and you’re in burger heaven.
I do love pineapple on a burger with Teryiaki sauce! 🙂
Not a fan of sauce other than low fat mayo these days, unless I make my own……… pineapple and ginger is very popular with Hubby…… or was until his reflux went mad, hence the forthcoming op.
Thinking of your hubby and hoping all.goes well with his operation.
thanks Carolyn.
You are welcome!
I am sending good wishes for the upcoming operation. Maybe burgers will return some time in the guture.
Thank you. He certainly hopes so! He’s gone without so many of his favourite things this past year. All being well he’ll be able to have chocolate again by Christmas!
That’s a great goal.
simple pleasures!
I’ve never liked beef or any other red meat. I like chicken, but better still veggies.
We tend to have more pork and chicken than beef anyway
We Muslims don’t eat pork. So it’s either chicken, fish or beef and mutton. I don’t like meat so I prefer vegetables
We tend to mostly eat chicken I must admit.
I like venison burgers but they’re a bit deer.
haha!!! Bit deer is right as they don’t seem to put that much venison in them these days!!
My favorite is a Black and Blue burger – Black Angus beef with blue cheese in the center, onion straws on top on a pretzel bun…
Not a fan of blue cheese, but it sounds tasty.
