This week Michael gives us the subject of ‘Cards’ for our prompt.
This week write your response in story or poetry form in which ‘cards’ of one form or another feature.
It doesn’t have to be limited to playing cards, it could card of any kind, credit cards, business cards, just go where the prompt sends you.
I wrote this five years ago about my imaginary Dorothy Poole. Please have a read.
The picture of the card in the story is not one I made, but I think this one is pretty similar though it was for my niece’s wedding rather than a birthday.
I’m old fashioned, and like to send cards for birthdays and anniversaries, but I don’t for the latter these days. I’ve just realised it was Bro’s anniversary on the 2nd and I forgot. Sorry guys.
With the current situation regarding Covid, I have got my card making kit out on several occasions, making Christmas cards, birthday cards and general what I term ‘Hello’ cards to send to friends rather than use ordinary writing paper. They say they love to receive them which makes the effort worthwhile.
Sadly, I am finding it more and more difficult to find the trimmings I prefer, and shops that previously stocked a variety now only have blank cards and some childish stickers which are nothing like what I’m after. No doubt I will go into an Aladdin’s Cave of a craft shop in the future and go mad stocking up.
There is a knock on effect to this though.
Whilst I get a lot of pleasure out of making them, my list of recipients is getting shorter.
Very skillfully made.
Some of my better ones I think.
👍👍👍
I love all your cards, but especially like the rose one, second from bottom.
That was my favourite for that particular session. I have started to use the little diamantes quite often, and those are linked, so at least I don’t have to put them on one at a time!
These are wonderful, Di. Just the sort of thing I like making too.
Thank you Roberta. It’s quite a mixed selection. I try not to make two exactly the same, though themes have raised their heads and I go with the flow of the moment!
lovely cards 🙂
thank you!

I love making cards. Once upon a tie I was heavily into stamping, coloring, and embossing cards. Then once I got hooked on scrapbooking those went by the wayside. I have toooooo many supplies now.
I enjoy it very much, as I was never particularly creative.
Your cards are beautifully crafted, creative and individual. Any recipient is very lucky. 😀
Thank you. I think they like them.
Oh I’m sure of it! 😀
