This week we are dipping our toes into the pool of METAPHOR. Our challenge is all about the use of metaphor in our writing. You will need to use the metaphor provided in your response – which can be poetry or prose.
Our metaphor this week is:
– This is the icing on the cake.
Thanks Sarah!

Depending on what is going on would determine what kind of icing is on what cake.
Hubby and I prepare for things and anything extra is gravy, but the principle is the same.
On the bad front, say it’s tipping down with rain on a journey, then the proverbial icing on the cake would be a flat tyre.
BUT
I remember saving up for my first stereo record player, and by the time I had enough money, it was reduced in the sale! So that was the icing on that cake, but the extra frosting came with the number of albums I could buy with the money I then had left over!
A sweet story Di 🙂
I remember that day so well! I;d already bought my first record player and was upgrading, so had to save about £50, a lot of money when you’re only 16. By the time I had it, the stereo system I wanted was £35 so I had £15 to spend on records!!
Luck you and a true icing on the cake !! 😀 😀
t was indeed.
😀 😀 😀
That must’ve made you happy.
Very, and I didn’t spend all my money either. I think I only bought two albums.
I could expect nothing else from you. You’re always so sensible
I do have my mad moments…….. especially in a craft shop!!!
That’s understandable. I’m sure you plan for that as well
sort of…………
👍👍👍😉
That was a very lucky situation. I can only imagine your glee when you had so much left over for records!!
I did very well, but I still didn’t spend it all.
