Today is Tuesday, 8th September

it’s the afternoon already, and dinner is cooking. I forgot to take something out of the freezer last night so Hubby is having fish and I’m having a tomato pasta. The cheese will count as my 2nd A option and everything else is free as it’s all veg. Pasta is also free.

It’s a lovely day. Maggie got me up at 5, did the business then we went back to bed for almost 2 hours. She seems more settled today and we think the damp weather is affecting her joints, the same as it does ours.
I had a small problem with my laptop which Hubby looked into for me, and found a host of other things going on in the background which have now been rectified. These computer companies are damn sneaky as they want to know all your personal information including your inside leg measurement, then get all huffy with pop up messages if you ‘omit’ something, saying they cannot complete your upload. RUBBISH! It’s just another way of getting into your computer via a back door, which Hubby continues to shut/slam.

Not that much on the agenda today.
The washing is out and almost dry after only two hours. Our local lad who cuts the grass for a lot of the residents here is catching up on his round as he couldn’t do any yesterday because it was so horrible. He goes up the road one week, and down the other side the next, and one property allows him to store his equipment in their garage so he doesn’t have to worry about it. He goes everywhere on a pushbike with his little trailer, and not only is he popular, he is also very reasonable.

Have a good day everyone and take care.

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! In November 2020, we lost our beloved Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney. We now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of Kizzy, my GSD when Hubby and I first met so had hers done too. On February 24th 2022 we were blessed to find Maya, a 13 week old GSD pup who has made her own place in our hearts. You can follow our training methods, photos and her growth in my blog posts. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.

You certainly ate well. Everything looks delicious.

    • I love my tomato pastas, but sadly Hubby can;t eat tomatoes now. This particular strain are plum tomatoes and very tasty in my pasta dish. the two green beans were tough as old boots so I added peas instead. All very yummy, and Hubby enjoyed his fish.

Looks tasty! We are having leftovers – and probably will for several days. I roasted a 12 pound turkey and now we have lots of leftovers! I’m going to be inventive and make a pot pie and bbq sandwiches with some of the meat.

    • My SIL used to do a bake with left over turkey and veg, bind it all together with mayonnaise and top with grated cheese and crushed crisps (potato chips in the US I believe) and cook for 25 minutes in the over. I can’t remember if she put pasta quills/twists in it or not. I think so.

  5. Now I really want fish & chips (your sort of chips) for my dinner! That looks amazing, but you’re just a wonderful cook! I hope you have a great day too, and all!

    Irony Meters are Broken

    I laugh every day
    As I watch Trump
    Continue to call Biden
    Senile and too weak
    To be President

    The irony meters are broken
    Need to be fit
    And I need to nip
    This problem
    Before the irony meters
    Are driven insane
    And no longer work
