Some people can write anytime and anywhere. Others require certain pre-requisites such as the appropriate setting before they can get their creativity going. In today’s Blogging Insights we discuss the necessity or otherwise of the right ambience for blogging.
TODAY’S QUESTIONS:
What , in your opinion, is the perfect ambience for blogging / writing?
Depending on what your blog is about would determine whether you needed peace and quiet with no interruptions, or you can work with other things going on around you.
The key IMO is feeling comfortable in your surroundings and your frame of mind for whatever post you are working on. For instance, if you’re angry, a post of peaceful calm is unlikely, but if you are ready to complain about something, then it would work!
Are you able to work in this setting on a daily basis?
I work on my laptop either in the lounge during the day or in bed in the evening. Sometimes I don’t access my blog until late in the afternoon, and if it’s a day of my favoured challenges, I can still be working on something at midnight!
Do you feel that the ambience has any particular effect on the quality or quantity of your output?
Again it would depend on what I’m writing about. Inspiration comes in all forms and if I’m responding to a romantic or restful picture, being hungry, the dog whining or wanting to go for a walk would not result in a worthy piece! I try to keep my posts to around 500 words or less as I think anything longer is likely to lose the reader’s interest. Occasionally I go off on a tangent and can write double that, but sometimes less is more and I end up doing several short posts. I try to keep my daily input varied as I do post several items every day.
Very good answers! Same with me.

Great answers.
thanks Lauren.
I agree that some posts can be written just about anywhere while others require peace and quiet.
Perfectly said. Our frame of mind and emotional state often dictate what kind of blog comes through best.
I’ve scrapped a few posts because my headset was all wrong!
I agree on the “perfect ambiance” – it depends on the topic of the post and the mental attitude of the blogger…
Thanks. I have to be in the mood to write certain things and other times, the words just seem to flow.
