The Robin Hood Droop

As you know, Hubby and I have a dartboard up in the hall and I get thrashed more often than not. I miss my Tuesday night games, but it is unclear if the league will resume this year. A lot of people I’ve spoken to since Covid-19 disrupted everyone’s lives aren’t keen about confined spaces in pubs where you are unable to social distance.
Still, Hubby and I have three games of 501 down, and I try to lose graciously 😦

Before we changed the light fitting, we had a very nervous lamp shade, Hubby and I both putting holes in it so it was retired to the roof and we got one that fits flush to the ceiling.
In our order of play, I am queen of the Robin Hood shots

But Hubby has recently perfected the droop
Our games are usually pretty close as we are well matched, but if we were ever to play as a pair, we’d stand a pretty good chance of winning at least one round!

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! In November 2020, we lost our beloved Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney. We now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of Kizzy, my GSD when Hubby and I first met so had hers done too. On February 24th 2022 we were blessed to find Maya, a 13 week old GSD pup who has made her own place in our hearts. You can follow our training methods, photos and her growth in my blog posts. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.

I don’t know the rules, does a Robin Hood count?

    • Sadly no. It’s only the darts with the point in the board that count. Same as if a dart is precariously perched and falls out before the score is added up, that doesn’t count either, so I try to be quick if I’m chalker!

I can’t remember the last time I played darts!

  5. I was in a bowling league, a golf league and a dart league, but darts were the most fun.

I think the “Robin Hood” shot should count double! When our sons were young they would play in the finished basement – the light in the stairwell had a paper shade that soon was destroyed. We bought one that was an indestructible metal. Just replaced it with something prettier (but less durable) since they are unlikely to damage it now that they are both over 30!
