Speech and Talk

I’m no good at making speeches. I would rather sit on the sidelines and listen.
Besides, it’s rare I’d have anything interesting to say so it came as quite a surprise that I volunteered to give a talk at our Ladies Group as they were short of guest speakers.
My subject was The Bear Necessities, though when it was advertised in the local newsagent for attendees, it was posted as The Bare Necessities, and seeing as the lady on the committee who had introduced me to the group in the first place had a lot to say to anyone who’d listen, she said my talk would be about budgets, spam recipes and living on baked beans.

The turn out was actually pretty good, but they were in for disappointment if that was why they were there as my talk was actually about Teddy Bears.
This is Mini the Pooh, the smallest hinged teddy bear in the world, or she was at the time of my talk.

We took up a selection of our personal Hug, including Grandad here
and had done a fair bit of research on the subject, so as speeches went, it wasn’t too bad at all as I kept people interested for the entire twenty minutes!

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! In November 2020, we lost our beloved Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney. We now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of Kizzy, my GSD when Hubby and I first met so had hers done too. On February 24th 2022 we were blessed to find Maya, a 13 week old GSD pup who has made her own place in our hearts. You can follow our training methods, photos and her growth in my blog posts. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.

  1. I love the bear necessities song. What a great topic for a talk. I never knew bears could get so small either, Mini is amazing!
