Theme today: Cake
I love most varieties of cake.
Top of the list is cheesecake now, especially since finding a no cook recipe (melting butter does not count as cooking!)
I made this one in March and it was one of my best.
Second favourite is carrot cake
This is a slightly better (but not much) for you as it doesn’t have the cream cheese frosting. MOH gave us a fool proof recipe and we made it on one of our visits.
Third would be one of my sponges as I’ve found the secret to making them light and fluffy
Next is a bought peanut butter stack.
I have not had one of these for well over a year, not since joining SW in May 2019
and finally, coffee and walnut cake.
A colleague of Hubby’s made one for my 50th birthday. The last one I made was in the cottage. Time to dig out the recipe I think…… my basic sponge with coffee added, and coffee butter icing, topped with walnuts.
Now that I’ve drooled over this post and almost flooded my laptop, time to get back to real living and syn counting.
These cakes look yummy!
I’d love to make a cheesecake this week, but I;m trying to lose some excess weight and Hubby can’t eat it. so as it;s only the two of us, seems a bit pointless to make it, sniff it and then give it all away!!
I made a cheesecake a few months back and instead of sour cream I used greek yogurt and instead of cream cheese I used ricotta. It came out really good. Not like a full fat cheese cake but good enough for me.
I haven’t used sour cream in mine, but was tempted about the greek yogurt. Does it whip well?
How do you make yours? My mom had a recipe that is a favorite at all the events I go to. 4 blocks of cream cheese, 2 pints of sour cream, 6 eggs, 2 cups sugar and 2 tsp. vanilla. It makes a big cheesecake so I cut it in half and it is great. I think the greek yogurt acts just like sour cream so if you don’t use that I am not sure how it would do.
This is my recipe

I had a slice of carrot cake today and enjoyed every delicious mouthful. Life without it would be that much emptier !
Foood… 😬😬😬😊💜🐾💜🐾
I know!!
Now I want some desert.
dessert by proxy is calorie free Jim. Help yourself!
They all look delicious!
Haha! This post evokes yummy feelings.
I know………. 😦 doesn’t help the diet any.
Nopes!
My mother would make a chocolate coffee cake and make a glaze with powdered sugar and coffee. Everyone seemed to like it but me – but then I’ve never been a fan of coffee (and still don’t drink it).
I’m not usually a fan of coffee or chocolate flavoured anything, but cakes I make an exception!
Mmmm! So many nice cakes! I love cake but I dont eat it often! 😁❤
I don’t make it now, or very rarely
I like you I like most kinds of cake too.
Your coffee walnut seems really yummy.
Sadly not my picture, but the one that was made for me that year was very similar.
Oh dear. I looked at the cake post.
Virtual cakes are calorie free. Does that help?
LOL
That is the great thing about foodie posts, they are calorie free.
It’s something! 😀
haha
You can’t have carrot cake without the cream cheese frosting. Sacrilege!
I know. That’s the best bit!!
