Today is Thursday, 20th August

And it’s going to be a hot one.
Already I am hot and bothered, and it’s only 10am!

Quiet day other than my expected phone call and Hubby’s dental appointment this afternoon. The washing is out, and dog bedding is spinning away in the machine.
We’re having a brunch today so that Hubby can have a sensible meal as by the time he gets back this afternoon, it will be too late for him to have anything heavy. Not planning on doing that much, just grilling some spam and tomatoes with tatty cake, eggs and toast.
Surprisingly spam is not that bad on the syns, provided I weigh my portion carefully.
I am trying really hard to get the weight back under control. I celebrated a year at target a fortnight ago, but have edged out of it. Group is due to resume at the new venue on September 7th. Numbers are restricted to 30 per session, and our leader is doing 3 sessions plus one for newcomers every week, each lasting 45 minutes. The new venue is a lot further away so not within walking distance, but despite all precautions being taken, I am still anxious about numbers in close proximity. Normally it wouldn’t bother me, but one of the things that has come to the fore since Covid-19 took hold is my discomfort of groups of people.  I have asked for a break of 2 weeks anyway to get things back on an even keel and hopefully sort out the pain meds for my back, but I’m not sure if I will rejoin the group meetings now, and so my membership will lapse.

I had a good go at the puzzle yesterday, completing the top left hand side. Once I started, everything seemed to follow. Hubby’s put in a couple of pieces today so I might sit down later and see if I can finish off the one side which is the pathway along the bank. The pattern repetition is quite close, but the colours are deceptive. It will look lovely when it’s finished as it has an oil painting type finish.
Hope you are enjoying good weather, but not so that you are uncomfortable and feeling as if you’re in a hot house!

Have a good day and keep safe.

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! In November 2020, we lost our beloved Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney. We now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of Kizzy, my GSD when Hubby and I first met so had hers done too. On February 24th 2022 we were blessed to find Maya, a 13 week old GSD pup who has made her own place in our hearts. You can follow our training methods, photos and her growth in my blog posts. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.

It’s been quite cool here since just before the weekend but it is supposed to be warming up again. It was quite a dramatic change.

I have sat outside this morning, until lunch time, after coming home from work. A neighbour joined me.
Lunch is now cooking. When I have had that, I shall have a nap.

    • don’t blame you. We used to have a nap in the afternoons sometimes as it was the only way we could keep cool as we’d have the fan going. Sadly, no fan on the boat though.

  3. That’s a beautiful puzzle. Very very stormy windy here.

  4. I am experiencing the same feeling about groups of people.

  5. My allergies have been acting up. The air quality is moderate and the particles from all the fires are the usual cause at this time of the year. Stay safe!

Hope your back pain can be lessened and the weight drops off too! I like the puzzle and can see where the path would be an attractive part to start on…
