Word Of The Day – Schmutzwortsuche

Bless You!
Sounds a bit like that, doesn’t it.
Young Melanie has come up with  SCHMUTZWORTSUCHE for our word of the day challenge. Yikes!!
This was her graphic too, so I pinched it!

We never learned interesting words like this at school. Chances are our teachers didn’t know of them either as it wasn’t in the school curriculum. Today everything is done via a computer so maybe they wouldn’t know how to pronounce it, let alone spell it.
In my day, a smooch was a nice slow dance snuggled under the chin of the one you loved, a wart something on your foot, finger, or if really unfortunate, the end of your nose, a zoo somewhere you visited to watch animals being fed or cleared up after, and che brings me neatly to my opening words…….. Bless You.
So maybe my definition of SCHMUTZWORTSUCHE (which by the way WP didn’t recognise) would be
noun: a dance to ward off warts using zoo droppings that could make you sneeze.

How did I do Melanie?

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! In November 2020, we lost our beloved Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney. We now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of Kizzy, my GSD when Hubby and I first met so had hers done too. On February 24th 2022 we were blessed to find Maya, a 13 week old GSD pup who has made her own place in our hearts. You can follow our training methods, photos and her growth in my blog posts. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.

  4. It was a GREAT word (in my immensely humble opinion), but it wasn’t due until tomorrow (my error). Your definition? EXCELLENT!! I love how it was parsed into those portions and then each explained in its turn. Bwahahahahah (I would have put the laughing face emoti, but that’s another thing WordPress has apparently buggered up so badly it doesn’t work any longer for me). *sigh* and I find “lol” so very juvenile, but LOL it will have to be I suppose! LOL! Have a great day Di!

Melanie jumped the gun a bit yesterday and posted her WOTD a day early.
She’s relaunched her post today and given me a nod for my contribution.

  10. That is so funny! I am dying laughing. David just asked what I was laughing at so I read him what you wrote. He thought it was funny too but said I reminded him of his mother laughing hysterically at the silliest things!
