Thanks to Melanie for hosting the Share your World and for adding a new dimension!
Hi Roger!!
I’m afraid I am not a Potterite. I haven’t read a single page, let alone a book, and fell asleep when the film was on TV. However, fun is the name of the game, so I’m going to have a go!
This week the book OR the movie is “Harry Potter And The Sorcerer’s Stone”
Share Your World Meets Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone
- Because of the state-wide quarantines many of the local SPCA’s are having an influx of animals. You have decided that you would love to have a new pet. Would you go the normal wizardry route and pick an owl, a cat, or a toad? Or would you become a more eccentric wizard (like Hagrid, the games keeper) and seek out a three-headed dog, a dragon, or a unicorn? Please explain your answer.
I’d have a unicorn because I think they are magical.
- Neville Longbottom was gifted a Remembrall. This was a glass ball that would assist you in maintaining memories of things that you often forget. What would you want your Remembrall to help you remember?
What’s on the shopping list I’ve left in the kitchen.
- Professor Dumbledore gave Harry Potter an invisibility cloak that Dumbledore said was from Harry’s father. Now, you have inherited a cloak with similar powers. Would you use it? When?
I might use it once just to test that it worked. - While cleaning your attic, you have discovered the Mirror of Erised. (“Erised” is “desire” spelled backwards, as if reflected in a mirror) The Mirror of Erised is a magical mirror, which, according to Professor Dumbledore, when you gaze into it, it shows the “deepest, most desperate desire of our hearts.” You have chosen to look in the mirror. What do you see?
My Mum and Dad smiling and waving at me
Please have a bit of fun with the answers. Even if you aren’t a Potter fan, the questions are (to me anyway) fun ones which could be answered ‘outside of Harry Potter’s world’. Imagination might be required though.
Now for the ‘traditionalists’ who like “just the questions m’am (or sir)”. Here’s three random “Plain” Questions:
Glad you joined the Potter group. You could never go wrong with a unicorn as a pet! And a Remembering Spell for the grocery list would be grand.
Stay safe.
Thanks Roger. You too.
You saw the same thing Harry Potter did when he looked into the Mirror of Erised!!
Really? I miss my parents so much.
Good answers Di.
thank you!
A pleasure
I haven’t read or seen Potter either. It’s a disadvantage sometimes when taking part in quizzes – they all assume everyone’s into Potter.
Same thing, I’ve only ever seen one Star Wars too, and that was enough.
Star Wars got silly, so I only saw 1, 2 and 3 or was it 4, 5 and 6?????
I’m thinking if you had a three headed Labrador, it’d eat you out of house and home (we have two, only one head apiece).
I love all dogs and had a couple at time for a few years…… german shepherd and rough collie. They ere pretty economical actually! I know Labs can be notorious for their appetites. We dog sat for a friend for a weekend and were given little packets of measured food and instructions as to when he could have it. The dog was so hungry, he knocked the bowl out of our hands before we could put it on the floor and in less than ten seconds had hoovered everything up! As a parting gift for our hospitality, the little sod ate our only swede in the veg patch!
You might enjoy this post, though it is a little long, but it gives you an idea, especially as Sam, the swede eating lab above, is included in the tale

I would love a dragon 🐉 and a unicorn 🦄 I suppose I couldn’t have both that would be greedy…. Perhaps a mix but they’d not ha a good name they’d either be a Dragcorn or a Unidrag or even a Cornigan ? 💜💜
Love the idea of a Cornigan Willow.
Yes sounds the cutest the others sound like drag queens 😅
Now that’s funny!!
Well that’s how they sound to me especially Unidrag 😂😂😂🥂
Unidrag………. gotta have a college prom in there somewhere!
Yes indeed college for drag Queens ☺️🙂
hehe
Wow! The beach is amazing. Our beaches up here have been crowded this summer. Just waiting for the Covid numbers to rise now.
We are avoiding our beach, park and town due to the influx of holidaymakers who could not care less about residents and don’t believe in masks or social distancing. Hubby put a few pictures together for that one to make a panoramic view. The current header on my blog is a picture I took a couple of years ago shortly after we arrived here. It is a lovely beach, even more so in the winter!!
I do love the beach in the winter…so quiet.
most defnitely!
Thanks Di for Sharing Your World! I’m glad you took a lash at all the questions…because (to me) the HP ones can be answered even if one has never read nor seen a single HP book or movie. Your beach is lovely, how peaceful that must be in ‘non-invaders of the unwanted sort’ times! Uni-drag? Dragicorn? BWAHAHHAHAH!! Too funny. Thanks again! 🙂
Thanks Melanie
awesome great answers di! I liked yours a lot! ❤
Thanks Carol Anne. Hope you’re having a good day.
