Today is Sunday 9th August

Good morning everyone. We’ve had a late-ish start to the day insomuch as getting up rather than being awake. I had a very contentedly asleep dog alongside me this morning and didn’t have the heart to disturb her. I eventually got out of bed just after 9.

It’s a lovely day……….. for us. Cool and grey, so we are hoping the tourists stay away or inside their accommodations. No doubt they will raid the supermarkets of all things yummy as there’s not much else to do on a miserable day when you’re away from home.
It is indeed exceedingly pleasant to be sitting here without my hair stuck to my scalp or my teeshirt sticking to my back because it’s so hot.  It might even be raining, that very fine drizzle that you don’t actually see but soon feel when out walking in it without a coat.

Not much on the agenda, as per usual these days.
We started the new puzzle yesterday and have got all the edge pieces together…… 40 across the top and 25 down, so there’s the 1000 pieces.
It’s going to be fun as there is a lot of green and shadows, plus the image is akin to an oil painting.
When finished, it will go between our narrowboats on the lounge wall.

Lunch today is a cheat job of tinned curry and rice, with broccoli on the side as that’s what Hubby fancied. I forgot to take any meat out of the freezer last night, so it will make a change from homemade. No poppadoms though, and there is no way I’m going to fight my way through traffic and the supermarket for one item.

Have a good day everyone. Take care and keep yourselves safe.

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! We have an elderly dog called Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.

Your sentiments re tourists are echoed all over the world, particularly here on the cold and wet south east coast of Australia. I recently asked my neighbour how locals could tell if folk were tourists. He said they picked up their dog poos.

    • This is so very true!! Resident dog owners have pockets bulging with poo bags. Tourists have no pockets. At the moment, we can tell the different as well by residents wearing masks and keeping their distance, tourists barging their way through facially exposed. The world has gone nuts. Tourists never used to be this bad……….. did they????
