Weekend Writing Prompt #169 – Misanthrope

As a rule, I’m a caring and loving individual in respect of people, animals and family. Wherever possible, you can count on me for support and a shoulder to cry on.
I’ll happily give my opinion if asked for it, but can also keep my own counsel or a secret if you needed a confidante.
I had to look “misanthrope” up and I was shocked to find that as far as holidaymakers and shoppers were concerned, I have turned into one!
The definition is as follows
‘one who harbors dislike or distrust of human character or motives in general.’

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! We have an elderly dog called Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.

  1. Well, to all descriptions there is a range of expression … 😉

  2. To be sure shopping and holidays can be times where it is not easy to like people.

  3. Bill says:

Over the years, I’ve learned the hard lessons of discernment regarding my fellow humans. Only by acknowledging my own dark side am I equipped to accept others on a less misanthropic basis. Good reflection. I enjoyed it.

That’s because like all misanthropes you went to the school of hard knocks ! 💜💜💜
