The Friday Reminder and Prompt for #SoCS Aug. 8/2020

Thanks Linda.
Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is “spot.” Write whatever image the word “spot” invokes.
It’s an important date, event, day, when all eyes will be on you and you get a spot!
Not one that is easily camouflaged with cosmetics, or one that is in an unobtrusive place.
Oh no. This has to be either in the centre of your forehead when you don’t have a fringe or on the end of your nose and is a perfect doozie.
Bright red and inflamed, with that horrible pus centre that makes it look like a red daisy on speed,  it’s perfect for ruining not only your day, but also any photoshoots that are bound to come about, especially at weddings…………. YOURS!
Do you ignore it? Hell, how can you! It’s there and if you can’t feel it, you can certainly see the one on the end of your nose that is dazzling in its audacity of turning up on this day of all days.
Do you do what most do, and give it a squeeze? Hellsapoppin no! Experience has proven this is not the best idea as it makes the situation worse, and everyone points the verbal finger at you:
‘We know what you’ve been doing!’
So, creams and lotions, facepacks and concealer applied, you hope for the best that either people are too wrapped up in the moment to notice, or the photographer has a couple of tricks up his sleeve to blend it out.

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! In November 2020, we lost our beloved Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney. We now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of Kizzy, my GSD when Hubby and I first met so had hers done too. On February 24th 2022 we were blessed to find Maya, a 13 week old GSD pup who has made her own place in our hearts. You can follow our training methods, photos and her growth in my blog posts. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.
