Today is Tuesday 4th August

We had nothing planned today, and have had a most enjoyable day so far.
I was up letting the dog out at 6am as normal, then went back to bed. I  finally surfaced just after 8 when I had a shower and washed my hair. I have recently changed to a discount supermarket’s own brand of hair ProV and Sensitive skin shower creme which at £1.25 and 85p is far better on the purse than £3.99 and £4 plus respectively. They both seem to suit so I shall stick with them for the time being.

Dinner today was ham and eggs as the pack of ham I purchased yesterday and opened for sandwiches has to be eaten within 24 hours. As it’s not suitable for home freezing, I remember now why I stopped buying it.
Our neighbour has been working in her garden and brought us round a lavender cutting which has been planted under the kitchen window.  We invited her in for a cup of tea and then asked if she’d like to join us for lunch. It’s been a while since we shared a meal and we know she’s been feeling more than a bit down lately. I was glad she agreed as I’ve been concerned and it was nice to catch up.
Hubby cooked for us, toast, fried ham and a poached egg followed by yogurt which all went down very well along with three mugs of tea for the duration of her visit! She’s keeping OK but said she hadn’t wanted to foist her bad mood or depression on anyone else. I can understand that and told her she only has to pick up the phone and invite herself round for a cuppa if she wants some company.

I had a call from the surgery this morning as my blood test and X-ray results are back. According to my notes which we can access on line, the blood tests are clear, no added action required, and the receptionist wanted to book a telephone consultation with the doctor next week to discuss the X-ray. While I was on the phone, I asked about Hubby’s CT scan, and those results are in too. I asked if I could make a double telephone consultation  for him at the same time, but his treatment is under a different doctor who is currently away, so an appointment has been made for the Monday after. I am reading it as a discussion, not a problem due to the time factor of almost a fortnight. Let’s hope I’m right!

So here we are at 3.15 in the afternoon and I have just accessed my blog.
Hope all is well with you. Keep safe.

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! We have an elderly dog called Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.

  5. Di, as we weave through this new lifestyle it is always good when something goes right.
