Thanks to Sadje for another WDYS challenge. You can find more details here
( For the visually challenged reader, the image shows a baby monkey looking down from branches of a tree)
I had to hide, that thing was bigger than me, bigger than my Mom and my Dad!
This tree was perfect and I was able to snuggle down in the trunk out of danger.
But I fell asleep.
And now I don’t know where my Mommy and Daddy are.
I’m frightened and alone.
It’s getting dark and that thing might be back.
There is nobody around. All my friends scattered and fled to their own hiding places.
I didn’t see where they went, I was too intent saving my own skin.
I WON’T CRY! I WON’T!!! I’m not a baby…………
But I want my Mommy!
An hour later, two adults came searching.
‘There he is……….. Come on son, you can come down now. It’s safe.’
Daddy!!!!!! and the youngster dropped into his father’s waiting arms.

About pensitivity101
I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes!
We have recently lost our beloved dog Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney, and now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of my GSD so had hers done too.
From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives.
We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.
I love your story and the happy ending. Thanks Di for joining in the challenge.
