Today is Monday 3rd August

Good morning!
My day has started early as Hubby has an INR appointment this morning and we are off shopping immediately afterwards.
Maggie got me up just before 6am so that actually helped get me up and moving!
It’s going to be another hot one, so no doubt the unofficial car park opposite our house will be full when we come back.

Walking the dog for her final wee last night we kept to the estate as the number of people out was more than we’d seen for about a month. They were overflowing like lava from the beach and heading right for us, so we turned round and walked back the way we’d come. It’s not family groups of four or five, but gatherings of ten plus, and none give way to you.
The shapes and sizes of the visitors have a lot to do with it as there simply isn’t room, and as single file is unheard of in their little world, it’s safer to walk in the road.
When we came here, we knew it was a holiday resort, but having lived in Poole, were used to crowds during the season. Our town caters for all age groups which is good for business, but the noise the other night was horrendous. It was coming from the top end of town and was as if the entertainment bosses had turned the volume up 50% in the hope of deafening the virus into submission. We don’t usually hear it, even when the wind’s in the wrong direction, but we are being bombarded with noise from all directions at the moment with the circus a mile and a half down the road, and a fairground half a mile beyond that.

Not much else on our agenda today. Lunch is a surprise as I haven’t bought it yet.
Hope you can all have a good start to the week.
Take care and keep safe everyone.

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! We have recently lost our beloved dog Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney, and now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of my GSD so had hers done too. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.

The worst of it, I think, is the lack of consideration for others.

    • I agree and it’s getting us both down. We don’t mind walking the dog and meeting up with fellow walkers we know or even those who attempt to social distance. One guy I know is a visitor as he has a holiday flat behind the pub and has a black scottie dog. They are so rare, it’s why I remember him. he has now got a new 16 week old scottie puppy. He is one of the few to give everyone space.

Gee that’s a lot of noise! I hope it quietens down and the people go home soon! πŸ™‚

    • We wish! To be honest, it’s not usually that intrusive, but with the windows and door open to try and get some air flow and the air is so still, sound is carrying. Could not believe it from the High Street though.

    Hope it all goes well.

it seems there are a lot of crowds everywhere! Its the same here! And I don’t live in a tourist spot! I don’t envy you having to deal with all that!
Hope lunch was nice and a nice surprise!
