It has been a busy morning!
I have written three letters and dropped them in the post to some friends we made whilst on the boat. One owns a small cruiser and has been mentioned in my blog on several occasions
and the others were house owners on the original avenue who we got chatty and friendly with and who have stayed in touch.
Then we started with the puzzles.
You may remember this
a 1000 piece puzzle of narrow boats we completed whilst staying with MSM.
A little while ago, we completed a second
which has been sitting on a board under the settee awaiting a suitable frame.
We purchased two identical frames on Tuesday and have today been playing shiftabout on the wall.
The original puzzle is in a frame totally different to the ones we were able to buy, and the other puzzle we have to do is not of narrow boats, so it made sense to put the original in one of the new ones and the puzzle to do will go in the vacated frame.
We discovered the new frames only had one hanging point and that was the wrong way round anyway for what we wanted.Β Hubby managed to rectify that with some picture hooks and rivets.
The puzzle was put in the frame and hung on the wall………… and found to be considerably higher than the original, despite precise measuring for placing the hooks on the wall.
On turning the frames round the original had its hooks higher up the back, so that too had to be amended. It has been a game, but Hubby got it all sorted and then we had the fun of hanging the damn things back on the wall!
The narrow boats are finally either side of an empty frame with a WIP label in it.
Cue cups of tea and pancakes.
I canβt hang pictures to save my life. Never straight, either too high or too low.
Guilty to all the above. It is a game indeed and it’s not perfect, but then that’s what adds to our charm, things being a bit wonky!
Good point π
The framed puzzles look good.
We’re pleased, and having an empty space to look at will give us the necessary incentive to do the next one!
There you go πππ
Enjoyed reading your post! Great job on the puzzles! Hope you have a Magical Day! π
Thanks Patty
Hehe! My husband would rather have a root canal than hang anything on the wall! Your husband deserves high praise for persevering and getting everything hung to your specifications!
