Sarah’s challenge this week:
Welcome to the Saturday Mix, 1 August 2020!
This week we are dipping our toes into the pool of OPPOSITES. Our challenge is all about “opposing forces” and the use of antithesis in our writing. You will need to use the two opposing words in your response – which can be poetry or prose.
Our words this week are:
– dark and light (suffix “-ness” may be added)
My weakness, well one of many actually when it comes to food, is chocolate.
Dark or light, it doesn’t matter. I was warned it was a trigger for migraine, but Hubby and I, both sufferers, discovered that if we had a single square of chocolate, it was sufficient to keep the headache at bay. Who would’ve thought it?
Bro was waiting patiently for me to arrive in 2010. I had finally plucked up the courage to visit NZ on my own to see him, and my stay was for two months! he admitted he had no idea how he was going to entertain me, but my sister-in-law took me in hand and showed me miles and miles of her beautiful country. I visited a works colleague in Napier an stayed with her for a week, spent time with SIL’s sister and BIL, then had a seven day mini trek on my own on the overlander train (12 hours!) to Wellington, over on the ferry to Picton on South Island, Kaikora and a whale watch, Christchurch and Greymouth before returning back to Wellington and the overlander up to Auckland.
All too soon it was time for me to depart back to the UK, but I would love to go back.
