Today is Friday 31st July

Another beautiful day and the road is filled with visitors trotting off down to the beach.
We have five cars and a van parked opposite our house and although no-one is blocking anyone’s drive, should our neighbour wish to get his camper van out or if it was bin collection day, it would be a tight squeeze.
There’s nothing to stop them parking there though, so we have to grin and bear it.

Well, after a hot shower, walking the dog and breakfast (in that order), I have hoovered the front and back lawns and mowed the carpets. Thought that might wake you up……………
Yes, I have used the new mower and cut the grass in record time. So much easier when it is self propelled and no cables to worry about. Hubby got the strimmer out and did the bits I couldn’t reach and we are looking rather dapper!
And we had showers this morning because????????????????

The washing is out, as is everything I was wearing as it was slightly (!!) sweaty, but not enough to do a wash on its own. Ferreting around in the cupboard for something to wear other than heavy joggers, I found a pair of snazzy trousers I bought when we were on the boat and hadn’t worn yet. They still had the label on and I was pleased to see they were a size 16 not an 18 as I thought. When I put them on, they were lovely and baggy!! The ones on the line now are a generous size 14 and bought at the same time I bought the posh frock for my niece’s wedding three years ago. Ladies clothes sizes are very much hit and miss depending on style, fabric and label but it’s reassuring that the clothes I bought when I lost all that weight in 2016/17 still fit me without being a crowbar job to get them on.

I picked up my prescription yesterday and have a box of 30 sachets of a mild laxative. Apparently I can take up to six a day, but the doc said to start gently. As they are intended for children, she was right when she said it was a mild dose. Hopefully it should sort out that side of my current problem. I’ve had two doses so far and it tastes vile but I can glug it down in three gulps. I don’t care as long as it does the job.
It’s going to be hot today so we won’t be going out for walks until this evening when it’s cooler and the rabble tourists have gone home.

Sausages for dinner today which we shall be having with carrots, sprouts and our own new potatoes. Maggie has her chipolata, and I’ll do some onion gravy, which she can’t have but I can get round that.

It’s the end of the month, the start of the weekend and the first of August tomorrow.
Have a good day and keep safe.

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! We have recently lost our beloved dog Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney, and now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of my GSD so had hers done too. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.

You certainly have gotten a lot accomplished today! And it’s great that those clothes still fit — especially at a time when everyone is struggling isolation related weight gain. Yay!

That was good, hoovered the lawn and mowed the carpet! 😂😂

  5. So pleased about the clothes. Really am.

    • Me too! No need to buy extra, though I must admit we both agree it’s about time we had a clear out of the old favourites which are well past their best!
