First Line Friday: July 31st, 2020

Thanks go to Dylan Hughes for hosting the First Line Friday challenge on alternate weeks with Jim Adams music challenge.
This week our picture is ‘Cigar Bar Evening Lounge’ by Brent Lynch and our first line

Lush melodies drew her to the door of the lounge, the friendly smiles enticed her inside.

He was waiting for her at the bar, suave and debonair, still wearing his hat, a mark of his individuality and sex appeal.
She stood beside him and in silence he passed her a cocktail, the twin of his own. The sugar coated rim teased her lips as she sipped.
She was about to speak, but he held up his hand, and placing both glasses on the bar led her to the dance floor.
She melted into his arms, their movements fluid and as one, the envy of onlookers as they glided across the polished floor without so much as a whisper or tap of heels. Poetry in motion, they swayed to the gentle rhythm of the string quartet, oblivious to their audience, eyes only for each other.

No words were necessary as she collected her wrap, and he led her out to the waiting taxi.
The hotel room was cool and welcoming, their intentions clear, passions riding high until they lay sated in each other’s arms.
He spoke for the first time all evening.
‘I love you.’
‘I know my darling husband, and thank you for playing out my fantasy.’

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! We have recently lost our beloved dog Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney, and now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of my GSD so had hers done too. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.
