For visually challenged writers, the image shows a bank of dark clouds rolling in across a sunny moor, casting its shadow on the hills of the horizon.

Rolling dark clouds
Descend on the horizon,
A prelude to engulf
The landscape in darkness.
The wind changes,
Calling through the stillness
Heralding a warning
Before it strikes.
A storm is coming,
Best to lock down
And ride out its anger
Until it passes.
Nature’s way of cleansing.

About pensitivity101
I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes!
We have recently lost our beloved dog Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney, and now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of my GSD so had hers done too.
From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives.
We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.
Beautiful, Di. Not a bad metaphor for the current situation either.
Thanks Sue.
This captures the mood of the photo so well and I was going to say exactly what Sue has said 💜💜💜
Thanks. It was another good picture to work with
Yes it was 💜
This might be a way of cleansing too, isn’t it? Brilliant take on the prompt, Di
thanks Shweta
Lovely poem. And I agree with Sue. A great metaphor for the world these days. 🙂
Thank you Diana
Beautiful vivid imagery Di.

You’re welcome 😇
Beautiful imagery in this.
thanks Jude
I thought of your poem as a metaphor too. Great piece.
thank you!
I like a ‘prelude to engulf’. Like Sue, I couldn’t help think of the current situation.
Thanks Iain. Several readers have picked up on that now., so I’m really pleased!
