Blogging Insights #37

TODAY’S QUESTION :

What is the value of running writing prompts to your writing in general, and your blog in particular?
https://saltedcaramel670.wordpress.com/2020/07/20/hosting-a-writing-prompt/

When I started my blog in 2013, I had no idea any of it would take off, yet it has turned out to be one of my better moves!
A year or so ago, I would never have thought I’d be hosting a challenge. I admired anyone who did, the work involved in posting the original challenge, the follow ups, reblogs and responses, and would participate in quite a few. I still do!

Like Fibbing Friday which I co-host with Frank aka PCGuyIV, the Three Things Challenge was originally hosted by Teresa Grabs who closed her original site, and was taken over by Paula Light.  She asked if anyone was interested in carrying it on, and after a lot of thought and no takers, I thought I’d have a go. That was in September last year around the 6th anniversary of starting my blog.
It has gone from strength to strength, and I did a combi of all 21 words in a Take Seven post .
Melanie at sparksfromacombustiblemind suggested I make it a regular feature so I did, and whilst it’s not exactly a challenge, I welcome everyone who wishes to contribute.

I get so much pleasure from reading the responses to all of them, and with the Fibbing Friday have a lot of fun trying to come up with questions that can provide all kinds of angles to tell porkies about.
I’ve said it before that my readers help make my blog, and the challenges wouldn’t work or be worthwhile if they didn’t participate, so I thank each and every one of them.

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! In November 2020, we lost our beloved Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney. We now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of Kizzy, my GSD when Hubby and I first met so had hers done too. On February 24th 2022 we were blessed to find Maya, a 13 week old GSD pup who has made her own place in our hearts. You can follow our training methods, photos and her growth in my blog posts. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.
