An old Photo

I found an old photograph today, one my Mum gave me about 10 years ago that I’d tucked away with my old passport photo.
The photograph was of a young woman I didn’t know yet there is a family likeness.
This is my maternal grandmother who died in 1951, and the only thing I have apart from her cameo brooch left to me by my Mum in her will.
This is my Mum with Bro around 1951 I’d guess.
and this is Mum and me way back in the early 80s.
This will always be my favourite picture of us though, taken in October 2016

So here is my Mum and her Mum:

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! In November 2020, we lost our beloved Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney. We now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of Kizzy, my GSD when Hubby and I first met so had hers done too. On February 24th 2022 we were blessed to find Maya, a 13 week old GSD pup who has made her own place in our hearts. You can follow our training methods, photos and her growth in my blog posts. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.

  1. Beautiful beautiful women, all around.

    • thank you. I understand my grandmother was tiny, about five feet two. Mum was around 5 feet 7 the same as me, then she started to shrink. I’ve lost an inch and a half in height over the past four years though.

There really is a family resemblance!! Too often old photos are lost when people forget who is in the picture. Glad you have such nice photographs.

    • I have a collage of the generations in my family and there are photos of my grandparents and great grandparents n both sides. Going the other way, my nieces and nephews are now parents/grandparents in their own right!
