Today is Wednesday 15th July

and I’m live!
Yes, I am typing this on my new laptop, and it is lovely to have identifiable keys! The keyboard layout is slightly different by having the page keys on the side rather than along the bottom, but other than that and being a bit bigger, things are ticketty boo!

Hubby is now preparing his computer by saving his files before taking off the bits from my old one and replacing the failed parts on his. We do have a plan B in case everything goes pear shaped, and that is for him to have a new lap top too. Whether he’ll go for one like this we don’t know as he saw a few that were a little cheaper that would be fine for him, though they all have the Windows 10 S on board.

Today we have plans to do absolutely nothing. We’ve had chats with four different people on the drive this morning, social distanced of course, which was really nice as we hadn’t seen any of them to talk to for quite a while…………… ah going to have to be careful typing as the power button is next to delete!
Saying that though, I’m ready to go!
Hopefully I will catch up with the challenges now!

Lunch today is a cornish pasty for Hubby and I’m having a jacket potato with cheese, both with baked beans. Pretty exciting, eh? The weight is stable, but I could do with losing a couple of pounds to put me comfortably within target rather than teetering on the far edge.

Have a good day everyone, and keep safe.

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! We have recently lost our beloved dog Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney, and now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of my GSD so had hers done too. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.

If you’re worried about the power button being too close to another one, put one of the plastic thingies usually used on kitchen cupboard doors so they don’t bang. It shouldn’t be big enough to cause a problem with closing it, but worth testing.
Or even painting on a dot with nail polish … a suggestion from my niece.

Is a jacket potato the same as what we call a baked potato (i.e. baked with the jacket still on)?

I take it the new laptop has Windows 10 installed…?

    • Yes. Sorry John, I keep forgetting its baked potato across the pond. When I was in NZ I was a novelty because I ate the skin on my baked potato but left the skin on the chicken!

Yep. Windows 10 has finally been accepted into my life as my previous laptop was Windows 8 and I never took advantage of the free upgrade. I liked 7 and XP but they are like me, dinosaurs now. Still, I’ve managed to put out a few things today, including pictures, and it’s not bad……………………….

  6. I’m glad that you were able to set it up. Have a great day, Di
