What do you see # 38 – 13 July 2020

Once again Sadje has selected an image for us to open up our imagination.

For visually challenged reader, the image shows an old bearded man standing on a stone staircase that is leading to a tower. In the background you can see mountains enshrouded in clouds

It had been a long perilous journey and the end was now in sight.
They had been promised sanctuary and needed rest more than anything else.
The precious burden of life they carried was worth the sacrifices of leaving behind friends and family.  Chosen for their age and innocence, they alone held the key to the future, and this was the only place where it could be fulfilled, only here could the new life force flourish.

The steps were endless, their bones weary and heavy, but they trudged onwards and forever up.  The clouds embraced them, swallowing them from sight, trees bowing their branches as if in homage. The air was clean and they breathed in the coolness. The mountains and waterfalls waited in anticipation.

Looking up, they saw Him.
Dressed head to foot in grey, he glided down to meet them, his arms raised in greeting.
Taking the glowing orb from them with great respect and dignity, he said simply
‘It’s time to Begin Again. We’ve been waiting for you.’

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! We have recently lost our beloved dog Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney, and now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of my GSD so had hers done too. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.
