Call back at 4.20

Hubby had heard me coughing in the night, but I was asleep, it didn’t wake me, and when I woke up this morning, I had no idea about it as I had no dry mouth or sore throat.
Although I wasn’t keen, we rang the surgery and after about 20 minutes on hold, asked for a telephone consultation today.

The doc called me at 4.20 and I was impressed.
Not that he called me back, but the fact that he’d actually bothered to read my notes, knew about my cancers and meds, and also that I had seen the HHA (Head Honcho Ass, though obviously he didn’t call him that) way back in February 2019, so we were both confident I haven’t got The Virus.

We had a nice chat and ruled out allergies, hay fever and reflux. He looked up my meds on the Great Medical Bible on the internet and a cough is one of the side effects, but seeing as I’ve had it off and on for so long, it’s doubtful. He’s made a note though and we shall see how things progress.
He agrees with the temperature difference as a trigger and as my cough is at night, it could be my airways get blocked. He’s prescribed an inhaler to clear them, which I’ll pick up from the chemist tomorrow. If there’s no improvement, then I’m to call back and we can try something else.

So, a good result and a GP who thinks first rather than write out a prescription for wrong meds for a guessed diagnosis that he thinks you should have as the HHA had done TWICE to Hubby which is why neither of us want any dealings with him………. at all.

The laptop has arrived, and now that everything else for the day has come to pass, Hubby and I will sit down this evening to sort it out.
But first…………………….. a cup of tea!!

I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! In November 2020, we lost our beloved Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney. We now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of Kizzy, my GSD when Hubby and I first met so had hers done too. On February 24th 2022 we were blessed to find Maya, a 13 week old GSD pup who has made her own place in our hearts. You can follow our training methods, photos and her growth in my blog posts. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.

  2. It sounds like you have discovered a good doctor, Di. I also love tea.

    • Hi Roberta. They are a mixed bunch there, but get a good one and sadly they don’t stay long. Still, I got a result today and will pick the inhaler up tomorrow
