Today is Friday 10th July

We’ve had a late start to the day due to a bad night for all of us, and we ended up walking the dog at 4.30. It was as if her toilet clock had jumped twelve hours, but we think it’s just a sign of old age and hopefully this was a one off.

The day dawned at 4.49 though it was brighter earlier than that. I’d let Maggie out at 2.18 when it was quite dark, and again at 3.10 when it was considerably lighter, but no street lights were on to confuse me (they go off at midnight in our road). Poo by Moonlight, there must be a poem in there somewhere.
We checked the forecast and no rain was about so did the washing. Before it had finished its cycle, the skies opened. We were not impressed.
Hubby therefore took the washing up to the launderette where he met the tourists from hell, none giving an inch. Masked and gloved up,  he found a free dryer after asking a woman to move so that he could access it, then went outside to wait in the car.
Five minutes before the drying cycle finished, the sun came out and it’s glorious now.
Oh well. It’s done and tidied away.

Lunch today is the new fish so we’ll see what it’s like. If it’s any good, I’ll get some more.  If it’s horrible, I’ve kept the box in case I have to complain.
You might recall I complained about some yogurt I bought from Lidl some time ago and was sent some vouchers for my trouble. On trying to pay for my yogurt with them, I was informed that Lidl don’t accept ANY vouchers, other than their own. I just thought I’d pass that along as I now have to go elsewhere to purchase a specific brand of goods. Ho hum, they’re valid until 2023, so there’s no rush.

Keep safe everyone.

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! We have an elderly dog called Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.

Hope this time your fish is good. Have a good rest of the day.

  2. It sounds like the internal clock needs a reset. I am spoiled in that my dog has a doggie door in the bedroom so she can go out by herself without waking me. Hope your day goes well.

    • We only have the one door and that is usually open during the day in the summer. Maggie’s sleeping a lot during the day as it’s so warm, so I guess she thinks night is day.

Goodness! First a restless night and then the rain and then to contend with the covidiots at the launderette! I hope the fish is good. As for the vouchers – at least you got compensation of a sort!

    • The fish was good, so we shall get some more, and the vouchers can be used in one of the bigger supermarkets, though I shall have to have a particular brand. Weird that Lidl don’t accept vouchers, though that could just be the manager. I can always ask in the other branch we go to.

Hope it is just a one off with Maggie, and that you all have a better day tomorrow 💜💜
