A bit of humour from 2 years ago as part of the Flashback themes.
Mum read this one out at the ladies group she used to attend and it was very well received.
I expect some of you remember me saying about the poems I’d written that Mum had framed and put on her wall. One was called The Search for Mum’s Brain, and the sequel
The Search Continues.
So I’ve scheduled a few things just in case, and the poems mentioned above are two of them. I hope you enjoy them as much as Mum did.
The Search for Mum’s Brain
First they did the left leg,
Then they did the right,
No sign of grey matter,
Not a brain in sight.
Although Mum’s feeling dopey,
She fights against the bile,
Not sure what they’re discussing,
She manages a smile……………
‘We’ll bend the knees alternately,
To exercise the toes,’
Drifting into consciousness
Hears ‘Let’s try up her nose…’
‘Not so bloody likely!’
