Melanie’s Questions:

In your opinion, what’s the closest thing to real magic?
Rainbows, reindeer, dawns and sunsets.

Where is the worst smelling place you’ve been?
A block of flats. We were visiting Ex partner’s friends who were on the top floor of 4, no lift. The place stank of pee and stale cabbage, plus the foul stench of dirty nappies she had placed outside her door ready to take down to the bins when she next went out.

What are some things that you’ve heard in your own life, which sounded like compliments but were actually insults?
I was called Mother Nature at school by one of the year’s bullies, so definitely not a compliment (I’m having the last laugh now because I love Nature!), and a teacher referred to someone as bright who would never shine in class (bitch).

What incredibly common thing have you never done?
Rode a horse, eaten gherkins (US pickles), swum underwater

Gratitude Section (Optional, as always)

Please feel free to share some gratitude that you experienced during the past week!
I have a lot to be thankful for and it’s been a good week. I’m back in SW Target!!

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! In November 2020, we lost our beloved Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney. We now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of Kizzy, my GSD when Hubby and I first met so had hers done too. On February 24th 2022 we were blessed to find Maya, a 13 week old GSD pup who has made her own place in our hearts. You can follow our training methods, photos and her growth in my blog posts. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.

That is great, losing that one errant pound.

  2. Thanks Di for Sharing Your World and congratulations on achieving your weight goal! I know that was bothering you! Eating pickles (gherkins) is over-rated. I happen to LOVE pickles, both sweet and sour ones, but the salt content and the inability to find many any more that aren’t either picked with garlic (I like garlic, just not in my pickle choices) or sea salt (I hate sea’s so much saltier to me than regular salt); has made pickle enjoyment a lot less satisfactory. That flat sounds down right awful and ready for the health inspector to come condemn it (I realize it was your ex’s friend’s flat, so many years past no doubt). Ew.

    • I was pleased to lose those couple of pounds to get back in target, but it was hard work! Now with you with the picked and pickled as I read your correction comment first………
I use garlic a lot in my savoury dishes and take a garlic capsule every day ass it helps my blood pressure.
Hm. E-ew is right about the flat. She was not the best housekeeper and they decided to have another baby to get rehoused to a three bedroomed house. It backfired because she had another girl, so the council said the kids could share. Put a lot of pressure n the bloke as he had an extra mouth to feed and was in a low paid job. Those kids would be in their mid thirties now.

  3. Er…. not PICKED, but PICkLED. Geez. Does WordPress need a grammar and content police or is that just me? 😆
