Here are our words
Vox Populi- the voice of the people; popular opinion.
It was vox populi that the Elders spent more time asleep than dealing with matters in hand. The old farts would stumble into their chambers, drink herbal tea with their chocolate biscuits and then not be heard from for the rest of the day.
Many felt it would take a meteor to rouse them from their field of slumber, and as things turned out, it nearly did. Well, metaphorically speaking anyway.
Some bright spark came up with the idea of taxing the sun, or perhaps one should say sunshine, before the rays began to fade. The Elders got very excited at the thought of higher revenue in the summer to compensate for shorter hours in the winter, though how such practice could be put in place was a matter for the eggheads and Treasury Department.
The fluke of an eerie blood orange sky one morning started tongues wagging and the people, afraid their world was under attack, began to revolt.
The Elders looked around frantically for someone to blame, taking it as a sign of displeasure from the Gods, and stamped the offending suggestion REJECT in the hope it would never raise its head again.
