Sunday Writing Prompt: Fortune Teller

Yves challenge

For today’s prompt you are going to try your hand at fortune telling. Use whatever method you like. Make a prediction, make sure to address the audience for whom your predication is intended. The audience can be the whole world, it can be a friend, family member, yourself, or a specific group of individuals. You can also write about a specific historical prophet or fortune teller such as Nostradamus. Fictional stories work too!

Come, take a seat.
What’s your preference? Cards? Tea leaves? Crystal? Palm perhaps?
I have The Gift of few, and the following of many. Cross my palm if you wish, or leave and be none the wiser.

Ah, a sensible choice with the Crystal, and your generosity is appreciated.
The glass is clear, but not always so. You may not see as I do, but there is life there, and it is yours.
You are troubled and afraid. It is not a matter of health but circumstance.
You are not alone in not knowing which way to turn, and no longer have elders to guide you. Those in power are shallow charlatans, careless and naive in their approach, jeopardizing everyone in their greed, but you are already aware of that.
You have a strong heart and a equally strong will. Not for you to take things at face value or believe all you are told. You dig until you find the truth.
This is to your credit and will see you in good stead in the months, if not years, to come.
Hold fast. Times will be difficult, but you will weather the storm, as will many around you. All of a like mind, you will be surprised who are your allies and your enemies will fall.
The clouds pass and I see a future, but not as it is now, or how you yourself envisage it. Much has changed, but you adapt and are still whole. Best of all, you are no longer alone and together discover an inner strength neither of you knew you possessed.

The glass grows misty now. That is all I see, but you are in control of what happens next.

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! We have recently lost our beloved dog Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney, and now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of my GSD so had hers done too. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.
