Saturday Mix – Opposing Forces, 4 July 2020

This week Sarah asks us to dip our toes into the pool of OPPOSITES. ‘Our challenge is all about “opposing forces” and the use of antithesis in our writing. You will need to use the two opposing words in your response – which can be poetry or prose.’

Our words this week are:

– ascend and descend

– hope and despair

At the top of the stairs, we descend, at the bottom we ascend, so what do we do in the middle?
Just a thought.

In the darkest hour of despair, a light flickered. It was enough to force back the shadows and make us realise there is always hope on the horizon.

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! We have an elderly dog called Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.

Hope is the eternal light at the end of the tunnel

And what a time to need some hope!

In the middle of my stairs I often pause for a mental check to make sure I’ve left nothing up there…so as to avoid another trip up! Lol
