Gadgets, yes or no?

Other Brother loves his gadgets, and always seemed to have the latest gizmo the day after it came on the market.
I’m not one for them myself, but then it depends on what you consider a gadget, kitchen aid, or necessity.
We bought MIL an electric can opener as she couldn’t grip a manual one. It stayed in the box for months because it ‘didn’t work’. Turned out she hadn’t thought to plug it in, but by then she had already found an alternative to opening tins and was either buying her sandwiches for the week already made from the Supermarket, or ordering her meals in from one of the ready foods companies.

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! We have an elderly dog called Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.

saintvi has a can opener that is so danged strange that I can never figure it out – even having been shown a couple times. New gadgets can be confusing!

    • I’ve got a great can opener………. Hubby…….., and for ring pulls, I’ve got a ‘J’ which is brilliant for flipping up and pulling out! MSM has a weird can opener too and I honestly thought I’d broken it as I couldn’t get it to engage. She likes her gadgets too!
