Today is Tuesday, June 30th

Last day of June, and a full half year over. If I was working, we’d be getting ready not just for monthend reporting, but also a quarter and half year end with several additional reports. My job was fantastic as it was all number crunching and balancing figures different ways. I was paid well, had strict deadlines to meet and requirements for accuracy, no overtime paid, but our Department Director always saw us OK with ‘business’ breakfasts, in-office lunches, the occasional evening out for a meal, and on one occasion the bank hired a chinese restaurant for the evening, with entertainment, and free taxis home. I believe the last person left about 6am!
Somehow I don’t think we would have been able to work from home.

Plans today are to go back to the card shop and have a good look around. One of the kits I bought last time was confusing and we looked the range up on the internet. Hm. Seems there should have been five more sheets to reveal the ‘special message’ for each as they were slot in segments for something else. The pictures are ‘sliced’ so I don’t know how I could use them, but for 50p I can’t really complain but that’s not why I’m going back.

Off to walk the dog now. It’s a nicer day than yesterday and warm but not too hot, so we’re walking up, masked and gloved accordingly.

Keep safe everyone.

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! In November 2020, we lost our beloved Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney. We now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of Kizzy, my GSD when Hubby and I first met so had hers done too. On February 24th 2022 we were blessed to find Maya, a 13 week old GSD pup who has made her own place in our hearts. You can follow our training methods, photos and her growth in my blog posts. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.

Have a great rest of your day Di! There’s sun and a nice breeze here. I think I’ll sit out for awhile for a change 😊

And that’s why I’m very cautious about buying kits. Bought one for a counted-cross stitch picture. Was missing 2 different color threads which made me go crazy looking for them. had to rummage around in my sewing box to get similar colors to complete the thing (and it was expensive to boot)!
