It started to rain about 6am and the difference is wonderful! It’s cooler and the dog isn’t as restless. She didn’t know what to do with herself last night and I was padding about in the garden with her at midnight trying to cool the pair of us down. The air was so dense, you could almost cut it.
The rain is what we term invisible rain, the kind that you don’t really notice until you come indoors and find your clothes are wet.
I did a post on the climate when I first started my blog and listed our personal terminology. It’s a long one (I did tend to do that in the beginning) but you can read it here
I saw a lady this morning I hadn’t seen for a couple of weeks and had intended to go and visit her house yesterday to make sure she was OK. I saw her walk by three times yesterday and was able to talk to her this morning. She’s fine, but has been walking her dog earlier because of the heat. It was a relief as she’s a lovely lady and one of those who helped me enormously over Dick as she’d had her op 20 years ago.
I have no idea what our plans are for today, lunch or otherwise. Hubby made some enquiries about sheds and the earliest delivery isn’t for 6 weeks, IF they can get stock in the first place. I rang the local shed company we couldn’t find to ask where they were now and spoke to a very nice guy who has an awful lot on his plate just now. They are unable to get complete sheds, but can get the wood, but cannot treat it. On top of that, the person he rent his unit from has given him notice he’s selling it, so he has to find somewhere else. He has a place lined up but won’t know for about a month. If we haven’t got anything sorted, I shall ring again and see how things are as we’d rather give our money to local traders than the bigwigs who are already rolling in profit.
I’ve had an email from NZ and all is OK there, though Bro has had a fall. Nothing broken, but he’s bruised and in a lot of pain so on medication. Good to hear from them. (Hi guys!)
On with the day then……… one thing I do know is that Maggie will be getting her walks!
Take care everyone.
Hi Di, it’s been raining most of the night/ or early morning here, and like you we are experiencing invisible rain right now. Hubby got Ruby’s ealk in about nine in a nice cool but dry spell… Today will be quiet like yesterday I doubt I will be in the garden. Have a good one πππ
Although cooler outside than last few days, inside my flat is still as hot, so I have the fan on still.
Enjoy rest of your day today. π
thanks Liz
Very overcast here this morning and they are calling for rain this afternoon and tonight. Glad things have cooled off for you. Have a good day Di.
you too Fransi
Thanks Di.
We had rain all night which I hope is over as the temps are going to be hot hot hot! I’m debating on a shower or just wait until just before I leave on a little jaunt. (It is like a sauna outside)!
Take care
I know that English fine rain, almost like mist. We don’t really get it hear. The rain comes usually as a thunderstorm and buckets down with everything flooding. Two or three hours later the sun is beating down again and everything is steaming.
We have that too sometimes and have got caught out in it too!
Itβs been the usual June gloom here with occasional bouts of drizzle. I like it! Good luck to your bro π
Thank you.
Sounds like the misty rain we felt in Hawaii

Glad it got cooler there! You definitely needed rain! Did Maggie enjoy her walks? Hope so? ππ
She’s always wants to go and we let her set the pace.
