Well, it was forecast for this evening, and for once they got it right.
The skies came over really dark, thunder rumbled in the distance and lightning lit up the sky. We watched the dark clouds go round us just as we had on the marina one late August evening.

I was glad I’d walked the dog half an hour earlier as when the rain hit, it hit hard, fast and heavy. The thunder was loud and the lightning enough to cause us concerns about losing our internet so we unplugged our router.
We could see the dark clouds going out to sea, and the sky came over that strange purply gray colour, so I knew what that meant.

The rainbow this evening was wide and way beyond the roof tops opposite so out at sea.
By the time I got up to get the camera, it was already fading, and must be the fastest one I’ve ever seen.
In less than five minutes, it was all over, and we had bright skies again.
One thing about Lincolnshire, the rainbows here are spectacular.

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes!
We have recently lost our beloved dog Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney, and now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of my GSD so had hers done too.
From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives.
We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.
Nature at it’s best.

Thanks for your comment. Glad you liked them
We had some storms too but they didn’t last long either – though we didn’t get any rainbows… We’ve needed the rain and Sparky swore that the tomatoes grew 2 inches since yesterday!
You should see our beans! They’ve gone nuts!!
