Take Seven 19th June

It’s Friday!

Welcome to my Take Seven compilation which incorporates all 21 words (or derivatives) from the Three Things Challenge for the past week.
You are most welcome to join in using as many or all of the words too. Just pingback to this post and then leave a link to your post in the comments so that I can see it and respond directly.
As always, have fun, and I hope you enjoy this week’s effort.

Our words were:
cast, company, fortress, grace, harm, human, music, one, path, pink, pray, question, sky, squeak, step, stream, transparent, tube, vibrant, warm, whisper.

The slow and mellow music drifted across the field, the sky aglow with the soft pink of the coming sunset casting a rosy aura overhead.
Her step was light, leaving no trace of a path behind her, it was as if she was one with the wind, the sun and the rain.
The colours were vibrant, alive and breathing of their own volition, her touch a transparent whisper of grace.
The pleasure and beauty of this simple landscape provided a safe haven, a fortress of protection from those who would wish her harm or cause her pain. Here she was free, with the birds and animals for company. None ran away, most took little notice of this nonintrusive human presence.
Her own laughter rippled like a gentle stream and as she looked down, silvery strands of water were caressing her bare feet. It was warm and comforting, and she never thought to question where she was or why she was here.
She wanted to stay forever, yet something wouldn’t let her go. It was not demanding or pulling her away, accepting she was just visiting and would know when the time was right to return home.

Outside her dream world, tubes snaked in and out of her body, and the tiresome squeak of the tea trolley annoyed only the conscious. Her mother changed the CD so that the soft music she loved was always playing and she continued to pray that her daughter would come back to her.

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! In November 2020, we lost our beloved Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney. We now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of Kizzy, my GSD when Hubby and I first met so had hers done too. On February 24th 2022 we were blessed to find Maya, a 13 week old GSD pup who has made her own place in our hearts. You can follow our training methods, photos and her growth in my blog posts. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.
