Share Your World 6-8-2020

Many thanks to Melanie who is our host for the Share Your World questions and answers every Monday.

How comfortable are you speaking in front of large groups of people?
Not very, until I get started and then after the initial ‘all eyes are on me’ flush, I’m OK.
Mind you, the largest number I spoke in front of was about 20, when I gave a talk on the Bear Necessities!
The world’s smallest (hinged) teddy bear, Mini the Pooh.

What would be the best thing you could reasonably expect to find in a cave?
Shelter and a sympathetic grizzly

What did you think was going to be amazing but turned out to be horrible?
A steak, which looked beautiful on the plate until I cut into it, or tried to. It was as tough as old boots and tasted liked cardboard. Glad to say I hadn’t cooked it.

What’s the silliest thing you’ve observed someone get upset about?
That’s a toughie as for someone to get upset over something, obviously whatever it was wasn’t silly to them. The silliest thing I’ve got upset over is a rubber spider which made me panic and hyperventilate.

Please feel free to share something that gave you an uplifted spirit during this past week.  (Optional)

I read a post yesterday where the entire street came out to show their respects for a resident who had recently died. There may not have been many mourners allowed at the service, but this was a wonderful tribute in today’s circumstances.

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! We have an elderly dog called Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.

  1. Thanks Di for Sharing Your Amazing World!! Your gratitude answer was beautiful and made me a little teary eyed. Such great solidarity!! Mini The Pooh?? Oh my heck!! BWAHAHHAHHAHAH!!! 😆 So CUTE!!! ❤ I've had those kind of steaks before. I usually send them back, because my preferred method for cooking a steak is medium rare. One ought to be able to cut it with a spoon! Steak is expensive too, so to me it's a HUGE waste. I know the restaurant (when I used to go to such) won't re-sell the meat, but only throw it out, so I sometimes ask for a doggy bag and take it home. The dogs don't care how tough the meat is 😉 Spiders? 😮 brrrrr!! I'd have had the same reaction. Trust me. It's not silly at all!

    • I wish I could find my notes for my Bear necessities talk. It went down really well, especially as they were all expecting a talk about budgets and cheap meals. Mini the Pooh is her real name by the way.
I did send a steak back once as it stank! I got my plate back with a smaller original steak and comments that the chef and manageress had tasted it and it was fine! I refused to pay and would have taken it further but someone bet me to it and the place was shut down a week later.

Badly cooked food is just a let down, even if it’s cooked by us!
I read that post from Judy too. It was such a kind gesture.

I’ve had that steak experience! I hadn’t eaten one in forever and nothing else on the menu sounded good to me…I was REALLY looking forward to a magical steak and then it was just…eh.
