They had come here for some privacy and as he kissed her, she heard a plaintive cry pierce the sound of the running water in the cooling stream.
She rose to her knees to listen and the glower Gavin gave her twisted his handsome face. . As she stood and reached for her bag, she could tell he was displeased.
‘Where do you think you’re going?’ he demanded, pouting.
‘There’s an animal in distress close by so I’m going to find it and help if I can.’
‘Fat lot of good you could do,’ he sniggered. ‘It’ll probably bite you for your trouble. Leave it, and come back here.’
He patted the blanket beside him.
She saw a dark side to him and cursed herself for being so blind. His good looks only went skin deep, yet it had been so easy to cling to a romantic fantasy.
He didn’t know she was a vet and just saw her as a blonde bimbo to hang onto his arm and another notch on his bedpost.
I’m glad that she finally realised her mistake. Gavin has to go
That was nice Di !! 🙂 glad the vet left him 🙂 ❤
