The Friday Reminder and Prompt for #SoCS June 6/2020

Linda’s SoCS challenge:
Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is “fan.” Use it by itself or find a word that starts or ends with it. Use it any way you’d like. Enjoy!

Check it out here

I can remember tiny little battery operated fans, the concertina decorative fans and those hand fans use to fan delicate ladies of yesteryear.
In the office, I had a free standing fan behind me as I suffered from hot flushes but I had to be careful not to blow the paperwork I was working on all over the floor!
All I can say is having a ceiling fan in the bedroom is fantastic on hot nights, especially as it doesn’t cost the earth to run  so I don’t feel guilty if it’s going all night.
We’ve had them in other properties too, and lying underneath a cooling breeze is most satisfying when temperatures are soaring. Hubby says it’s snoring in triplicate as it’s hard to tell which is me, which is the dog and which is mechanical.

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! We have recently lost our beloved dog Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney, and now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of my GSD so had hers done too. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.

Those little battery operated fans made me laugh until I spent a week in Puerto Rico wondering if I’d pass out from heat stroke. Then it didn’t seem like such a bad idea to have your own breeze source. 🙂
