Hard to believe another month is almost over and June starts on Monday…………..
and with it a few more changes as the lockdown is eased, schools are set to re-open (I’m with the teachers and think it’s too early) and people hopefully can go back to work.
Up with the lark, well sort of, this morning as we had the Plan B curtain to return for a refund and wanted to beat the crowds. Maggie had actually gone through the night until 6am, so I was well pleased and got a few hours uninterrupted sleep.
A definite improvement and relief all round.
We stopped off at the picnic area to give her a potty break en route and a lady was training her 16 month old border collie for obedience and agility while her friend filmed them.
I could have watched her all morning as both she and the dog were having fun, lots of praise and rewards, and she had him doing everything she wanted. He was so intent on her and what they were doing he wasn’t interested in other people or other dogs, he was that focused. Damn impressive and IMO the sign of a good trainer.
We changed the curtain with no problem and in that particular style they don’t do a longer one. So it was up to another shop and they had new stock of exactly what we have at the door already, so it was an easy replacement job. We’re keeping the screen we’ve just taken down as should the green mesh on the greenhouse screen fail, we can replace it with that which will be more robust. For the moment though, it ain’t broke, so we’re not fixing it.
The supermarkets had queues of at least 30 people when we were coming home, so I’m glad we’d already done our shopping for the next week or so. All being well we shouldn’t have to go again for a while, which will give things time to settle down a little after the excitement and frantic bustle that is bound to occur as different stores open for the first time since the lockdown. We want to avoid that completely.
Of course it means that visitors will flock to our town as things open, so again we will be avoiding crowds, especially of people we don’t know.
