Today is Friday, 22nd May

All of us went back to sleep this morning, so we’ve had a late start. Not that it matters as our intention today is to go nowhere and just potter about. The only time we’ll venture out is to walk the dog, but that will probably only be round the block rather than the park, and if yesterday was anything to go by, definitely not the beach.

Mum’s candle is burning brightly in front of their anniversary picture. It’s another sunny day, but we have a cool wind rather than breeze,. In all honesty, it’s refreshing rather than intrusive and we have all the windows open to get air flow through the house.

Lunch today is fish for Hubby and I’m debating whether to have the same for a change or a tomato pasta bake as I usually do. I cook them in the oven together so it’s no different.

Hubby took another picture of our rose this morning, and the bud behind it is coming out too. You can just see it at about 1 o’clock in this picture I took yesterday:
This is the main bloom and bud this morning:
Seeing something so beautiful in these stressful times give you hope, and as the rose itself says, Peace.

Keep safe everyone

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! We have an elderly dog called Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.

awe I am glad you had a bit of a lie in. How nice. Nice to be able to just do that sometimes.

A relaxing day is what we all need every now and again. I love the Peace rose. My mother had several planted across the front in the house I grew up in. They would bloom like crazy and attract all the bees – made coming onto the front porch an adventure!

    • This is the second time it;s flowered as we had nothing on it last year. The ancient mariner has yet another bud so that;s 11 so far, and the red one has 2 maybe three now.

  3. That rose was perfect for today. It is uplifting to see the gorgeous flowers and realize that as bad as things might seem, there’s always something beautiful too. Thanks Di!
