Today is Friday 15th May

The sun is shining, it’s a beautiful day and I’m feeling good!!

We’ve just had elevenses on the drive which made a nice change. We decided to make the most of the sunshine before it got wind of our intentions and turned cold!

Another good night with Maggie, and Hubby took her for a walk this morning around 7.30.
He said nobody was about and it was wonderful to be able to walk where he wanted without having to play human dodgems. We understand local holiday resorts are being opened for the weekend so our town will be busy, though the boats won’t be on the lake. We shall be staying inside. The chippies in town all opened yesterday.

Had a phone call from Other Brother today apologising for missing my birthday and our anniversary (again, his words, not mine as he forgot last year). They are keeping well, a bit fed up with being isolated as both are in their late 70s now. His knee op has been cancelled so he’s on crutches at the moment. Good to know they are OK though, so that’s all of my siblings have been in touch.

Ha, the weather is on the turn and it’s grey and overcast now.
Hubby cooked lunch today which was very nice, tinned chicken curry and microwave rice to give me a day off, bless him. Good portion control and value for money, the whole meal costing less than £1.50. He can cook though, his liver, bacon and onions is second to none.
We’ve discovered the multi-vits we’re taking are high in vitamin K which is not good for Hubby as he’s on warfarin. Could explain why it’s taking a while to get his INR back within range.

OK then, time to start the day, even though it’s afternoon now. I’ve just got back from walking the dog round the block. Remember this?
The whole bush is a purple waterfall cascading over their fence, and the smell reaches us on this side of the road now.
Yep, it’s a beautiful day.

Keep safe everybody.

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! We have recently lost our beloved dog Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney, and now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of my GSD so had hers done too. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.

That bush is amazing!! Wow. It’s raining here today, all day apparently.

    Have a wonderful weekend

  3. How is your sis doing? The one who lived with your mum. Once in a while my husband will be in charge of dinner. Sometimes it’s a delivery pizza or take out Chinese. Sometimes he will grill a hamburger. Doesn’t matter to me. It’s a day off and I’m easy to please.

    • My sister sold her big house and moved the Sept after Mum died. Apart from a Christmas card, I’ve heard nothing from her since the funeral, so I was surprised to receive a text message on my birthday this year. She’s OK, though her family don’t visit, and she lost her dog in March. She’s getting another from a spanish rescue centre in the next few weeks. With OB ringing me today and already in contact with Bro in NZ on a regular basis, it’s good to know all of my siblings are OK.
Yes, it was nice not to have to cook lunch today. Hubby is exhausted though as pain has been keeping him awake at night again.

  4. Good morning, wishing your Hubby a pain-free day, I know the feeling. I now want a pain-free hour.
The military just did a flyover with Thanks to the health care workers. Have an awesome day.
