Today is Thursday 14th May

Another birthday of a relative today, though she passed away many years ago when I as living in Bath.
So if today is your birthday or anniversary, I hope you have a lovely day.

Not much is on the agenda today. It would appear two of the wood merchants are open for order and collect services now, so Hubby is going to get prices for the wood to make the base for his shed today. A step in the right direction for him. Hurrah!

I’ve got some ideas filtering through my head in respect of cards again, so I might have a go later.

We had another pretty good night with Maggie…… a late walk at 10.45 then bed for 11.15. I couldn’t settle though, and she got me up at 12.45, but saying that, she slept through until 6.45 and then 8 o’clock, so I’m not complaining.
I’ve had to take my rings off because my hands are swelling up. I don’t know why, though it could be water retention. I’m half a pound out of target today so have to go some ready for weigh in on Monday. Should be OK though.

Dinner for today is a mystery…………. mainly because I haven’t decided. I didn’t take anything out of the freezer last night, so it will be something like fish for Hubby and a pasta dish for me, or jacket potatoes. Meat free day anyway.

It’s lovely and sunny, so I’ve washed the dog blankets and bedding. Off for a walk round the park now to dodge the bullets aka tourists.

Take care everyone.

I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! We have an elderly dog called Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.

  1. wonderful to read your daily life

  2. I privately think the swelling of our feet and/or hands is because of the warmer temperatures. I get what I call my ‘bread loaf’ feet during the summer, because they swell alarmingly. Nothing else to account for it, I’m clot free (a reason feet swell up is poor circulation due to blood clots in the legs), my blood pressure is under control as is my cholesterol. I hope you find a reason for your hand swelling and keep a close eye on it. Your day sounds lovely. Enjoy! 🙂

    • Hi Melanie. Water retention in hot weather is not unusual for me. My circulation is good as is my BP. Cholesterol I won’t know until they do a blood test for my diabetes
We’ve had a pretty good day.
