Hot off the press today………….

We have just got back from walking in the park which was quite pleasurable apart from the umpteen tourists we saw and had to avoid. Did any of them think about going a different way or keeping their distance in their family groups? That would be a no then!

GO HOME!!!

Anyway, I took these with my phone so they’re not very good
Fuzz Balls!
Three in a row

Flanked and guarded.

The seagulls are watching, but the geese are savvy. They guard the precious bundles and see off predators. When more babies hatch, they form creches and several adults will keep watch over multiple broods as they come together in small groups.

The lake island is full of ‘sitting’ geese. Last year, the authorities raided the nests to keep the numbers down. This year it hasn’t happened so I’m hoping to see scenes like we had in 2018.

Nature’s wonderful isn’t it.

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! We have recently lost our beloved dog Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney, and now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of my GSD so had hers done too. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.

They are such sweet little babies.

These are great photos. With all the invasive species intruding around the world I hate when gov’t feels they need to “reduce the numbers” of the natural process. What would they do if something happened to what they left behind and there was a shortage of new babies?

    Anyway, I love your photos.
