Take Seven 24th April

It’s Friday! Welcome to my Take Seven compilation which incorporates all 21 words (or derivatives) from the Three Things Challenge for the past week.
You are most welcome to join in using as many or all of the words too. Just pingback to this post and then leave a link to your post in the comments so that I can see it and respond directly.
As always, have fun, and I hope you enjoy this week’s effort.

Our words this week were:
arc, back, bottle, cold, computer, cover, crash, delight, hood, injury, lamp, noise, oven, pan, pipes, pleasure, pot, print, pump, sheep, shoot .

She could feel the blood pump through her head.
Seeing the empty box of turkish delight in front of her, she thought
‘Too much sugar and too much computer work.’
The damn thing then crashed just as she hit ‘print‘, and the pleasure she had experienced at having finished her assignment soon evaporated.
Things got progressively worse when the pan on the oven hob boiled dry, and without thinking she put it directly on the worktop where it scorched a perfect arc on the surface. The burn to her fingers was a minor injury, but annoying nonetheless, and the rattle of the water pipes as she held them under the tap jangled on her nerves.
Her eyes hurt so she got a cold compress for her forehead and went to lie down. As she did so, she felt a pain shoot through her back and swore. Not being able to bear the light from the bedside lamp, she reached for the bottle of painkillers, took two then buried herself under the covers. Sometimes being in the dark helped.
It was a noisy neighbourhood though, so any hope of peace and quiet soon went to pot. She couldn’t sleep, but counting sheep certainly wasn’t an option.

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! We have recently lost our beloved dog Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney, and now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of my GSD so had hers done too. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.
