Anniversary time

Time to get the card making kit out today. I’ve been meaning to make a few more but somehow the mornings have got away from me and after lunch and walking the dog, the thought or desire just fritters away.

A few years ago, Hubby bought me some template cutters and I don’t use them very often as I had cards that already had ovals or squares cut out anyway. Still, I had some pieces of odd card and by cutting round the outside of the template as well as the inside, I had ovals and oval borders. I had orange, yellow and blue, but ended up using none of them today.

I made 8 cards altogether and they aren’t bad, though I divided up some of the layer kits and got more than one card out of them. The cost of postage for the fatties is 88p each as they are classed as ‘large’ because the layers make them so thick.

I’ve got a couple of anniversaries coming up so put together these:

These were the layers I split
and I did a bouquet on glossy paper but the photo didn’t come out.
Not a bad afternoon’s work and I have some notelet cards now to send off to friends made off the water who don’t have email and aren’t on the internet.
Favourite today is the yellow rose.

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! We have recently lost our beloved dog Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney, and now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of my GSD so had hers done too. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.

  3. These must have been so fun to make.

    • I enjoyed it Gary. Sometimes I go through the motions and the results are OK, but it was a bit of a chore. yesterday I must have been in the right frame of mind because it was a pleasant session and I had some good results.

  4. They look beautiful!

Pretty cards. Boy you got to love the postage system.

    • Thank you. I spent £24 on stamps the other day, and didn’t actually get that many, but when you think about the distance a letter travels for 63p, it’s good value!

They are all really lovely. I think I like the pink rose anniversary card… But the yellow rose is very good as well!
